We connect the dots
to develop innovation
others don't see

How do we make a huge impact?

The U.S. construction and real estate development industries are in a rut. The majority of today’s construction GC and subcontractor market share is made up of small and medium shops with little time, money, or incentive to change, let alone innovate building practices.

Meanwhile, contrary to common thinking, there is so much innovation happening in the construction industry. It is just hard to see it.  It is hard to see because the barriers to entry for new products are extremely high and many amazing products never get the opportunity to shine, let alone build market share.

Shift the paradigm that construction innovation is too hard

Create access to phenomenal products

O&M Building Technologies is defining a new process to specify and deliver buildings that are best in class, lower in carbon footprint, and perform to the highest standards globally.

OMBT's curated and managed ecosystem of trusted partner suppliers and product innovators is establishing a new approach to how developers create their brands, architects and engineers design building components, and GC's and modular manufacturers purchase and deliver high-performance materials and details for their projects.

Contrary to common belief, there is so much innovation happening in the construction industry. It's just hard to see it.

Deliver
long-term
real estate value

Many of today's real estate projects, especially in housing, are caught between ever higher materials and labor costs and static rents and real estate values. Add climbing financing costs and projects become very hard to pencil out.

Today's typical construction processes miss opportunities to create efficiencies in materials and labor and rarely integrate advanced approaches to building tightness, efficient equipment operations, or material re-use.

Yet, these opportunities are just what is needed to create long-term value for residential real estate. Buildings that are built quickly, run efficiently, are healthy and comfortable, and utilize systems thinking simply bring better NOI long-term.

We don't believe developers need to vertically integrate or invest millions of dollars in manufacturing to then be stuck with one or two building typologies. Instead, working from the right components within OMBT's ecosystem of partners and suppliers to create the right project specific outcomes is key to investing correctly in the future value of a building or development.

Lower new product barriers
to entry

OMBT works alongside product companies to create product momentum so that OMBT's partner products and materials not only survive, but thrive in the U.S. construction marketplace.

Companies from outside the U.S. or founders from non-construction backgrounds often struggle to understand how the U.S. construction industry builds knowledge and creates product acceptance. To make it even harder to navigate, in the U.S. Covid decimated the old lunch and learn programs, growth in Revit and BIM libraries shifted how to market to designers, and construction cost pressures have made trying new products too big of a gamble for the developers.

O&M Building Technologies is lowering those barriers to entry for its partners by building the right paths to certification, code compliance, and testing, by leveraging strong partner relationships up and down the development hierarchy to build product knowledge and trust, and by tapping into OMBT's network of supply-chain purchasers, warehouses, and distribution strategies.
